The Plantation Eagles U17 boys went to their first tournament playing 5 games in 3 days.1 draw and 3 wins put them into the championship game vs. the Orange County Knights. The Eagles scored early in the first half with a goal from Ross Weber and an assist from Michael Funderburk. The Eagles continued to dominate the game with the Knights getting few opportunities to score. Just as the regulation and injury time was ending the knights got a good cross and put one in just seconds before the final whistle, tying the game and putting the game into overtime. With the Eagles having only 13 players at the tournament and 2 of them with injuries, leaving the Eagles with no substitutions, the Eagles continued to control the play for the two 5 minute overtime periods, taking the game into penalty kicks. While each team only scoring 1 goal in the round of 5 PKs the Eagles won on the 6th round and took home the Championship trophy.
