      <title>Eagles U15 Girls win SCI Nike Labor Day Tournament</title>

        <![CDATA[<p>&nbsp;<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(69, 69, 69); "><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: &rsquo;Book Antiqua&rsquo;; ">It was very nice for our team to start off the season with a win at the Nike Cup (Clearwater Chargers) SCI Tournament.</span> </span></p><div style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; ">&nbsp;</div><div style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; "><font face="Book Antiqua">The girls played a total of five games over the three day tournament and came out on top late Monday afternoon.&nbsp; Game highlights:</font></div><blockquote dir="ltr" style="font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; display: block; margin-top: 1em; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 5px; border-left-color: rgb(0, 0, 0); border-left-width: 2px; border-left-style: solid; padding-left: 5px; padding-right: 0px; "><div>&nbsp;</div><div><font face="Book Antiqua">Game one vs. Hometeam Clearwater Chargers ended with a 2-1 eagles victory, with goals from #5 Kortney Hinden and #23&nbsp;Jacqui Koebel.&nbsp;</font></div><div>&nbsp;</div><div><font face="Book Antiqua">Game two was a fairly easy with with a 7-0 win over Cape Coral Cyclones Division II team.</font></div><div>&nbsp;</div><div><font face="Book Antiqua">Game three was a must win, as both the Eagles and their opponent Westside Lady Eagles had won both games in their earlier seeding and a tie would advance the Westside team.&nbsp;&nbsp;The opponent would score first, but this&nbsp;Eagle team wanted the win.&nbsp; Just after half-time, #5 Kortney Hinden made the assist of her life, with putting a perfectly placed through ball between the defenders, allowing #33 McKenzie Malone to drive it in.&nbsp; The keeper would initially tap it out, but Malone on a second attempt,&nbsp;beat the keeper.&nbsp; We needed another goal and it didn&rsquo;t look optimistic.&nbsp; But with&nbsp;two minutes left in the game, #33 McKenzie Malone received the ball in the box and made a quick turn and hard shot into the back of the net.&nbsp; What a win to advance to the semi-finals.</font></div><div>&nbsp;</div><div><font face="Book Antiqua">The semi final game was played against Naples Sharks.       <title>U14 Girls: Miami Super Cup - "Champions"</title>

        <![CDATA[<div class="ArticleStory ArticleStory"><p><span style="font-size: 12px"><span><span style="color: black">Plantation Eagles U14 girls earned the championship spot at the Miami Super Cup - Labor Day tournament.&nbsp; They went 3-1 against some tough competition to win the title.</span></span></span></p><p><span style="font-size: 12px"><span style="color: black">Games commenced on Saturday 9/4 against Pinecrest Premier.&nbsp; The game was tied until Taylor Malone (#32) put a free kick into the upper left corner. Game ended 1-0.</span></span><span style="font-size: 12px">&nbsp;</span></p><div style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt"><span style="font-size: 12px"><span style="color: black">The second game was on Sunday against Miami Lakes.&nbsp; There were three Eagles goals (Rudi Bard#4 (1) and McKenzie Malone #33 (2)) and one goal by Lakes, as the game ended 3-1.</span></span></div><div style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt"><span style="font-size: 12px">&nbsp;</span></div><div style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt"><span style="font-size: 12px"><span style="color: black">The third opponent was the toughest of all - Royal Palm Beach Strikers.&nbsp; The Eagles have played this team many times and not always successfully and this night was to be one of those times.&nbsp; Two goals were scored - one a penalty kick to end this game 0-2.&nbsp; However with the 2-1 record, the girls were able to move on to the finals.&nbsp;</span></span></div><div style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt"><span style="font-size: 12px">&nbsp;</span></div><div style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt"><span style="font-size: 12px"><span style="color: black">The girls met the Strikers again in the finals - hoping to come out on the winning side this time.&nbsp; The Strikers took an early lead with a goal&nbsp;in the first half.&nbsp; The game remained 0-1, and then Jacqui Koebel (#23) took a great turn with the ball - just inside the 18 and put the ball in the back of the net.&nbsp; With a tie at the end, this meant direct to PK&rsquo;s for an exhausted Eagle team.&nbsp; But, in the end, the Eagles prevailed with and awesome save from the keeper Anicia Snell (#2) and&nbsp;goals from Anicia Snell (#2), Jacqui Koebel (#23), McKenzie Malone (#33), and Rudi Bard (#4).</span></span></div></div>]]>

With a 1-0 loss in their first game the girls turned things around and won their next 3 games to send them to the finals where they beat RSL 3-1 for the trophy. Congratulations to the coaches and the girls for representing the Plantation Eagles proudly in the Orange Classic.
