From Eagles Director of Coaching John Ramos:
The "Team Adidas" project was put together in the summer of 2011 after a couple of years of consideration. The purpose of this project was to create a team for soccer players after the youth stages, 18+. The team is composed of players that developed through the local youth programs that have recently finished their college soccer careers or local talent that did not pursue the college road. Team Adidas trains 5-6 times a week with ESP and the PFC coaching staff. Part of our mission is to provide a professional team environment where players can continue to develop and possibly pursue professional contracts. Team Adidas will also be a catapult to accelerate the development of the youth players in our club. Next season we hope to have this team participate in the U.S. Open Cup where they could play against amateur or professional teams throughout the U.S. in a single elimination domestic tournament.
CASA League is a local league and is the first league that Team Adidas has participated in. Team Adidas finished league play in 1st place with 31 points and a record of 9-1-1. This is the first time in league history that a 1st year team has entered the league and finished 1st place in regular season. The league winner will be rewarded with a $10,000 prize that will be used to fund portions of the youth program.
